The Papaya Project, one of the research projects being conducted by Professor Ogita, is in its second year and was created to take advantage of a local resource that can be cultivated in the mountainous areas of northern Hiroshima Prefecture.
The Papaya Project aims to investigate the feasibility and necessary conditions for introducing papaya cultivation in mountainous areas such as Shobara, and to develop a new specialty product to follow the papaya.
