A public experimental lecture was held for local middle school students!
On August 26th, an open experimental workshop was held for students attending junior high schools in Shobara City.
Titled “Let’s Extract Fat-Soluble Pigments from Spinach!”, the workshop involved extracting fat-soluble pigments (chlorophyll and beta-carotene) from spinach and examining their components.
The session was led by Professor Yamamoto from the Department of Regional Resource Development.
Although unfamiliar laboratory equipment made the task challenging, the students tackled it with keen interest and serious dedication.
We believe they also enjoyed experiencing the atmosphere of a university laboratory.
